If you hold a QBCC contractor licence, you need to show every year that your business can operate sustainably. That is annual reporting, and it has a due date.
Who must report
- Licensees in financial categories 1 to 7.
- Company licensees in categories SC1 and SC2.
- Not individuals in SC1 and SC2. Their annual reporting requirement was removed in March 2025. They still have to meet their other minimum financial requirements.
- Nominee supervisors, site supervisors and occupational licensees do not have minimum financial requirement obligations.
When it is due
| Licensee | Due |
|---|---|
| Most category 1 to 7 licensees | 31 December each year |
| SC1 and SC2 company licensees | 31 March each year |
Check the date on your own QBCC notice. QBCC opens your annual reporting case in the myQBCC portal at least five months before the due date and sends email reminders before and after it.

What goes in it
For most licence categories, the annual reporting information does not need accounting standards applied, does not need to be prepared by an accountant, and can be based on your most recent tax or financial year figures. It still has to be right, and it has to match your nominated maximum revenue.
If you need more time
QBCC can consider an extension for exceptional circumstances, such as a natural disaster or serious illness. Ask before the due date and explain why. Each request is considered case by case.
We prepare annual reporting for licensees as part of our QBCC reporting service.
