Privacy policy
Trades HQ Pty Ltd (ABN 78 658 253 555) handles personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what this website collects, why, and what you can do about it.
What this website collects
The website collects personal information only when you give it to us through a form:
- Contact form: your name, business name, phone, email, your message and, if you choose one, the package you are asking about.
- Client waitlist: your name, business name, ABN, email and phone.
- Job Connect: for employers, the business name, ABN, contact name, phone, email and the role; for tradies, your name, phone, email and the details you give about your location, qualifications, experience and availability.
The website does not use analytics or advertising trackers. Our host, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
The contact page embeds a Google Map, which may set cookies and share technical information such as your IP address with Google. See Google’s privacy policy.
Why we collect it
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, to arrange an appointment, to contact you about a place on our client list, or to connect an employer and a tradie through Job Connect. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for anyone else’s marketing.
Tax information and tax file numbers
No form on this website asks for your tax file number or your date of birth. Individual tax returns start in our secure client portal, which is provided by Ignition and is covered by Ignition’s own privacy policy.
When you give us your tax file number as a client, we collect, use, store and disclose it only as the law allows, including the Privacy (Tax File Number) Rule 2015. We use it for tax purposes only, keep it secure, and do not use it to identify you.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where we need to provide our services, for example with the Australian Taxation Office, ASIC or the QBCC when we lodge on your behalf, with the software providers we use to run our practice, or where the law requires it. Some of those providers may store information outside Australia.
How we keep it secure
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we destroy or de-identify it when we no longer need it and the law does not require us to keep it.
Access and correction

Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, contact us first so we can look into it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
